Pool Equipment Timers
Having your filter pump operate on a pool timer saves energy. Most pools don’t need sanitizing, filtering, and circulation 24 hours a day. Swimming pools are designed to “turn over” the water in the pool for approximately 8 hours at a time. We typically use pool timers to operate 10-14 hours per day, depending upon the efficiency of the system, the ambient air temperature, amount of sunlight and the usage that the pool receives.
By setting your swimming pool timer to operate your pump during off-peak times you can take advantage of off peak (lower) energy rates, you’re helping to lower the cost of energy.
